its very expensive to take a taxi from the Greyhound to the airport
there is flat fee of 42,00 from downtown LA to lax
but there a problem the greyhound is not in this
service area so the fare could run you up to $50.00
Fares (ordinances 177843 & 178050 , effective 10/01/06 and 12/25/06)
All Passengers Ride for Price of One
1. $2.65 Flag drop (First 1/7th mile).
2. $0.35 For each additional 1/7th mile ($2.45 per mile).
3. $0.35 For each 47.5 seconds waiting time and/or traffic delay ($26.53 per hour).
4. $42.00 Flat fare for trips between LAX and downtown.
Area bounded by Alameda St., Santa Monica Fwy., Harbor Fwy., Cesar E. Chavez, Union Station and Chinatown.
5. $2.50 Surcharge for all trips originating at LAX.
6. $15.00 Minimum fare for trips originating at LAX (In addition to the $2.50 surcharge)
you might want to try transit
instead
which you can do, just take a metro bus line 60 to 7th/Flower
then you can take the 439 bus (which will take you
past Lax and along Century
(as far as Aviation/Century)
or you take the 60 bus to Broadway
then catch either 740 or 750 rapid bus take to Century
then the 117 bus along Century ave west toward your hotel
bus fare is 1.25 per bus or $5.00 day pass
PS I do not Recommed Greyhound at all
they can not be trusted -lots of times the driver doeesnt
even work for greyhound! and lots of time the bus will
be full and you would have to stand for hours or end
there have been several bad accidents with Greyhound buses
lately
where is your nephew coming from?
(it might be safe (especially if he a minor!)
to take amtrak!
About 25 miles
if your out on century in inglewood prepare about 45 bucks for a taxi,,there should be a terminal closer than all the way downtown,,,but i guess not
25 minutes(depending on traffic) 19.3 miles
