Where do I leave stuff from baggage at LAX airport?

I'm worried I might have excess weight for my two check-in bags. If that's the case (let's hope not)....and I need to reduce some stuff from my bags...where in the world do I leave them? Like books, shampoo and my iron for example. I can't just leave them on the counter or something. And plus...I'm not gonna have anyone with me. I'm having the shuttle pick me up. Any suggestions?

Make sure you're bag is underweight prior to arrival. Otherwise, you leave them in the garbage.

Why not weigh the bags before you go?

You just pay a fee and they will let you on. Don't be too much over though cause the fee can be quite big
