This is the official site of the Las Vegas Taxi Authority

With a chart of fares and the LVTA phone # which you should write down and take with you just in case you feel you were cheated(long hauled) . If this happens call the TA from the cab before paying.

If you want to save money, you can catch the bus at McCarran, it would cost you $3 to Circus Circus by bus.
Catch the #109 Maryland Pkwy South bus out to the SSTT(takes 8 minutes) then transfer to the Deuce which will take you straight down LV Blvd S(strip) to Circus Circus.
$3 = $2.50 when you board the #109 for a 24hr pass, then another .50c when you transfer to the Deuce.
You can ride the bus if you travel with carry on luggage only
The bus stop at McCarran can be found at "Ground Level Transportation 0"
The taxi lines at McCarran can get pretty long.

Are you really trying to say from McCarran? $20. Go to the lower level and take the shuttle bus $6. If you are lucky, free? Just tip a buck or two.
If you are talking about the airport in Los Angeles, its going to cost you at least 300 dollars. You probably wont even get a taxi driver to agree to take you that far.
Your better off flying from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and then taking a taxi from there.
like 200 dollars or more
Remember Lax= Los Angeles
Las Vegas has their own airport and their code
is Las
(it would cheaper to fly!)
That's a terrible idea especially with the costs, just take an airline like Southwest or take a bus like Greyhound.
You will need a car service for that. It will cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
about $15-$20 and tip
like $850?? but a lott

Best of Las Vegas 2007 poll.
Take a flight to the McCarran airport in Las Vegas. Cab to downtown from their is like $20.00 or so.
LAS? Take a shuttle bus. We got ours round trip for $12. They dropped us off at the front of our hotel. The day before you leave call them and schedule a pick up time. They picked us up on time the day we flew out. Much less of a hassle than a cab. Last time I was there they had 2 hour waits for cabs. Take a shuttle service.
DO YOU REALLY MEAN LAX?
If so, you'd probably be better renting a car with no charge drop off in vegas.
You might mean LAS? If so, taxi is about $15
WEll, it's about a 5 hour drive. Go figure. I doubt you'll even get someone to take you in their cab.
Why not just fly into Las Vegas instead of Los Angeles? It's cheaper to fly that distance than drive.
I am sure you meant LAS. It should cost appox. $20 + tip. Here are fare from LAS to all major casinos
