What's the best rental car agency at Los Angeles Airport (LAX)?

When I use Orbitz.com, I notice that to rent a car for a week, it's anywhere from $104 to $350 for any economy sized vehicle. I don't mind spending some money, but I'd like to know why there is such a broad range in price for essentially similar cars.

Check out Enterprise

BUDGET!!

I work for an airline at airport. It is best to check online first, but don't book online............CALL THE 800# to book via phone. I've found it's cheaper. Amazing, huh?

I have had a good experience with Enterprise, I recently used Avis, as part of a package deal thing and there were 100 people in the "express VIP" check in and 100 people in the regular check in just to get a car...I won't use Avis or Hertz because they are "too popular", which means too long lines....You think I am exaggerating but the friggin line was through the inside ropes, out the door and out into the parking lot...I am not kidding...(To be fair drop off was fast, but pick up takes forever..) You have all these planes landing and everyone is hoping on the shuttle to Avis and Hertz...not good...They need more facilities...

Many different factors from time of the year, week, and simply supply and demand for each car rental company.

My experience from renting cars from Texas, California and New York is that Enterprise usually has the less expensive rates.

Do you have AAA? This can make your decision easier since they do business with multiple car rental companies.

To get an informed answer, call a couple of the rental places at LAX and tell them what your bare essentials are, compare prices and try to haggle with them if your not satisfied by saying you could get the same car for a cheaper price from another company.

Good Luck!

Dollar or Enterprise.

"18kTravel" is a good site to search for rental cars.

I work at LAX. Most of them are very close in price. Instead of using Orbitz go to the individual website. Hertz, Avis, Dollar, Budget, Enterprise, etc. You can get a better deal going directly to the company.

Some small rental agency have restriction, 100 miles per day, within local state or surrounding, out of town driver, no mileage reward....check its policy.

Big companies have more locations and easy to assist you if you have trouble.

try http://travelzoo.com for rental car prices...very good deals
