LAX airport where can I store bags for 6 or 7 hours?

We fly to LAX, we get there at 9am, want to go into LA for a few hours and we will have bags with us, is there anywhere in the airport we can put them instead?? If not, any suggestions what we could do without too much walking around, with our bags with us.

our onward international flight leaves at 6pm, what time should we be at the airport, 3pm?
