You will be lucky if you get your passport by then absolutely pay for the rush processing. My cousin waited eight months to get hers recently. As for the airport two hours is the minimum to check in at the ticket counter before the flight for international travel so I would say be there three hours early.
Hola. Well since you haven't flown for a while, you will find things have changed. Arrive always 3 hours before any international flights. LAX has an extremely long and invasive screening process....be prepared to strip down and remove your shoes. Also, make sure you do not have any liquids in your carry on.
Apply as soon as possible for a passport and you should have no worries if you need it by Nov 27. It should only take a few weeks, 6 weeks at max, if you provide all the proper information. You won't need rush shipping.
If you are an American citizen, renewing or new passport applications can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months depending on the County you live in. If you are lucky, you may get it by Nov. 27. Check with the County Clerk where you live. They will have a good idea of how backed-up these applications are. Mexico is considered an international destination. Most airlines require that you arrive 3 hrs. before departure for international flights. The gate WILL CLOSE one hour before departure time.

Be at the airport at least 3 hours before in case something unexpected comes up. Such as security lines, or lines at the ticket counter. To get your passport it can take from 6-10 weeks, in the application it asks you if you have travel plans, you want to make sure you fill that out so they can process it quicker. I think it's around $100 to get a passport. Go to USPS.com it gives you all the info. on how to get a passport because you have to make an appointment.
maybe one or two hours early passports maybe 2 or 3 weeks
